Two Can Play That Game - Jungkook Fan Fiction: Chapter 9

I groggily opened my eyes when I felt myself being shaken awake.

"Y/N-ah, get up!" a deep voice near me called.

I turned onto my stomach and groaned into my pillow.

"Let me sleep. It's Sunday, Taehyung," I mumbled.

I felt the bed shift as pressure was exerted next to me on the mattress. He hugged my waist, but I still refused to move.

"Aish, what are you doing?" I asked, lifting my head slightly to prevent my words from being muffled.

Suddenly, I was being lifted out of my comfortable position and rolled over to the other side his body, making me dangle treacherously above the ground. The only thing between me and the cold, hard floor was Taehyung's arms.

"Yah! Kim Taehyung!" I screamed, frantically trying to grip the back of his neck so that I could pull myself back up.

He just laughed and swiftly set me back on the bed.

"Are you up now?" he asked with a box smile on his face.

"Hmph," I answered, crossing my arms and pouting.

"Let's go out for breakfast somewhere," he suggested. "Lisa's coming, too."

I nodded my head as he took my hand and helped me out of bed. I stumbled forward and landed on his chest, making both of us fall over.

"Y/N-ah, you are so clumsy," he chuckled. "Gwenchana?"

"Yeah," I replied as I helped him up after regaining my composure myself.

He left the room after giving me a warm smile. I lazily walked over to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a warm shower. After examining my closet, I wore a button-up top and a pair of shorts with clusters of thread hanging down from the bottom end, making the cloth look ripped. I combed my hair and french-braided a section along my temple, pinning the remaining strands behind my ear. I went out of my room and knocked on the door of the guest room, which was beside mine.

"Are you ready, TaeTae?" I asked.

The door opened, revealing Taehyung in a black sweatshirt, jeans, and a red cap.

"Yah, you are going to catch a cold wearing that. Go grab a jacket. Palli!" he said, giving me a disapproving frown.

"Arasseo, oppa," I replied, turning around to go to back to my room.

I felt a sudden grip on my right wrist, causing me to turn back around.

"Did . . . you just call me 'oppa?'" he fumbled, a smile creeping onto his face.

"Uh, y- yeah . . ." I shyly said, looking to my feet to avoid his gaze.

He hugged my head and started jumping in circles around me, making me a bit dizzy.

"This is the first time you've done that! You have to call me 'oppa' all the time from now on!" he yelled into my ear.

"Yah, don't shout like that! You might as well chop off my ear! Aish, I'll do whatever you say . . . oppa," I said with a smirk as I ran into my room, laughing and blushing simultaneously.

I grabbed a white coat from my closet and headed outside to start walking to the cafe with Taehyung, who was already waiting for me on the driveway. We teased each other and laughed about everything that was on our minds for the entirety of the trip.

"Hey, guys!" a voice called out from in front of us.

We lifted our heads to see Lisa running at us from the opposite direction we had come as we approached the entrance of our destination. He and I waved to her before we three walked inside and sat at a small table. A waitress came by shortly and took our orders. Our breakfasts were served minutes later, and we all dug in hungrily.

"Yah, oppa, don't eat so fast!" I exclaimed, seeing how Taehyung had finished his first croissant and egg sandwich in just about thirty seconds.

Lisa frantically looked between me and him, her mouth hanging open. She even dropped her spoon in shock, sending it splashing into her bowl of cereal.

"O- Oppa?" she stuttered.

"Yep, I'm calling him 'oppa' now," I said, trying to contain my laughter from how funny her reaction was. "How did it go with Hoseok yesterday?"

"U- Um . . . we're d- dating now," she managed to say, unable to contain her smile.

"What did I tell you? I'm the ultimate matchmaker!" I laughed.

We all spent the rest of the day going from shop to shop, roaming around the city. Lisa left for her home just as the first stars began to appear in the sky. Taehyung and I headed back home in silence since we were both too exhausted to try to start a conversation. I trudged my way to my room without giving any acknowledgement to him. I flopped on my bed as I heard a gentle knock on my door.

"Come in," I mumbled just loud enough for the person to hear.

"Can we work on our project? I've come up with a few ideas we could possibly use," said Taehyung, closing the door behind him once he stepped into my room.

No way! I just want to sleep! I thought.

"Sure," I said, sitting up.

I mentally scolded myself for going against my inner impulses.

He took a seat beside me on the bed.

"I choose the Great Depression for our topic," he said calmly.

"Mwo? Who put you in charge? I say we do the project on the Treaty of Versailles," I shot back.

"Wae? There's hardly anything interesting about that!" he replied.

"It's more interesting than your life," I joked.

I was caught off guard when he picked up the pillow my back was leaning against and whacked it at me. I scoffed before laughing and did the same to him. We were having a regular noisy pillow fight until I fell over and grabbed onto his shirt collar in an effort to stabilize myself. Doing so pulled him down with me so that he was hovering closely above me while my back was pressed deeply into the mattress. We stayed like that for a few moments until we heard a sound behind us.

"Ahem," someone cleared their throat awkwardly.

I pushed Taehyung off of me only to face a clearly disturbed figure standing in my doorway with a raised eyebrow.
