Two Can Play That Game - Jungkook Fan Fiction: Chapter 10

Omo! He's here again? I thought.

"Why are you in my room?" I yelled out of utter surprise and confusion, taken aback by the boldness in my voice.

"Why don't you ask your mom?" Jungkook retorted, shrugging.

I rolled my eyes and walked past him into the hallway.

To where has the soft, sweet Jungkook disappeared? I questioned.

"Eomma, where are you?" I called out.

A loud thud came from the master bedroom, answering my question. I strolled into the room only to find my mother scrambling to pick up clothes that had clearly fallen moments earlier out of the overturned suitcase that was sprawled across the carpet floor.

"Um, what are you doing?" I asked, directing her gaze to me.

"Go downstairs and ask your brother," she replied, letting out a long sigh.

I let out an excited gasp and wore an unsure expression, half-expecting her to be joking. She looked at me anticipatingly with a straight face, conveying the message that she was serious. I turned and ran down the stairs without a second thought.

"Yoongi-ah!" I shrieked, hugging my dear brother, who was previously sitting quietly on the couch.

Yoongi attended a college in America for three years and had not visited us since he left because he spent all of his free time trying to promote his small computer engineering business.

"Yah, pabo, why don't you come to see your little sister anymore?" I pouted, clinging onto his neck tightly.

"Mianhe, Y/N. Your oppa can't visit you anymore if you choke him to death," he laughed, pulling me to the left of him by the arms.

"Why are you here, though?" I asked, shifting my position to face him.

"Eomma has to accompany Appa in America for a while to collaborate with another company. They sent me here to keep an eye on you and your friend."

I slowly nodded, a frown creeping up onto my face at the thought of her departure.

"Oh, there's one more thing. The son of their business partners doesn't have anyone else to supervise him, so he's staying with us. I let him in the house a few minutes ago. Have you introduced yourself yet?"

I stared at Yoongi, blinking rapidly in bewilderment. Millions of thoughts were racing through my head, none planning to settle itself anytime soon.

Jungkook . . . is living . . . with us? I gaped, my mind not seeming to be able to process this fact.

"Hello, is anyone there?" he chuckled, lightly knocking on my head.

I snapped back to reality in an instant, the truth still having not sunk in yet. A voice suddenly spoke from directly behind me, causing me to jump in my seat.

"Hyung, there is no need for introductions. Y/N-ah and I are classmates. We even sit next to each other!"

I twisted my upper body around to face the playboy and shot him a glare that wiped the smirk off of his face.

I hate when he's sickeningly polite, I thought, scoffing.

"Yeah, we might as well buy friendship bracelets, too," I sarcastically grumbled under my breath.

The two boys laughed, making me feel flustered that they heard me.

"Ah, my friend is hilarious," Jungkook said, letting out his last few chortles and ruffling my hair.

I gritted my teeth, not wanting to make a scene in front of Yoongi.

"When is Eomma leaving?" I asked, trying my best to ignore the boy behind me.

"I'm going to drop her off at the airport soon," Yoongi answered.

You are leaving me alone in a house with two enemies who are guys? I wanted to shout.

"You will be sharing a room with the other guy here," he said, turning to Jungkook. "I'm going to sleep in the master bedroom."

I wanted to slam my head against a wall. More than that, I wanted to slam the head of the person who came up with that sleeping arrangement against a wall.

This is just perfect, I thought sardonically. I have no idea why they even hate each other, though. Did they know each other in the past or did something happen between them recently?

I trudged upstairs to the guest room and opened the door to find Taehyung reading a book while slouching against the headboard.

"Go downstairs and talk to Yoongi," I muttered laconically before going straight to my room and falling asleep the moment I lay down.

Taehyung reluctantly got out of bed and headed downstairs.

"Nice to see you again, hyung," he spoke with a box smile on his face.

Many years ago, Taehyung, Lisa, and I would hang out all the time while Yoongi joined in and added his own twists to our little games.

"Taehyung-ah, Y/N didn't tell me you were the friend staying here! You look so much more mature now!" Yoongi said, standing up and patting his dongsaeng's back.

"She told me you have something to tell me," Taehyung remarked.

Yoongi proceeded to explaining the situation to him. After he finished doing so, Taehyung finally noticed that Jungkook was standing in the room as well.

"You . . . You're staying with us?" he asked, shocked.

Jungkook smiled fakely and nodded before discreetly glaring at him.

"Ah, you know him, too,?" Yoongi asked. "This makes the situation so much better! We can all hang out together."

"Yeah . . ." the other two boys synchronously, their voices trailing off as they scowled at each other.

Yoongi left to drop his mother off at the airport as soon as the packing was completed. Taehyung and Jungkook sat in awkward silence until one of them spoke up.

"We should sleep now," said Taehyung.

Jungkook nodded, and they went upstairs into the guest room, which they would now share. No furniture other than the bed was suitable for sleeping so they crawled into opposite ends of it, their backs facing each other. Taehyung picked up his book once again and turned on the lamp beside him to read.

"I thought you said we should sleep," Jungkook scoffed.

"Then sleep," Taehyung sighed, not glancing up from his novel.

"I can't sleep if the light is on."

"Deal with it."

"I'll blame you if I'm late for school tomorrow because I stayed up late."

"If you're going to complain, just sleep on the streets."

They argued back and forth for what seemed like an hour until they woke me up with their pointless quarreling.

"Yah, pabos, I can hear you guys!" I yelled through the wall.

The rest of the night passed in sheer silence.
