Two Can Play That Game - Jungkook Fan Fiction: Chapter 2

After I walked home with Lisa, I went straight to my bathroom. I flashed a confident smile in the mirror before walking to my study to start my homework. I knew I was going to have to go to bed early if I was going to get up early to carry out my master plan. By the time I was finished, it was already 8:30 P.M., so I decided to get ready for bed.

Beep! Beep!

My alarm that I had set for 5:00 in the morning just went off, making me groan as I reached for the snooze button. I rolled out of bed and finally opened my eyes to see the first rays of dawn creeping up through the window shades. My memories of yesterday suddenly hit me like a wave, and I started digging through my cabinets to find my avocado clay face mask. After applying it, I took a quick nap. As soon as I woke up, I took a shower, which washed the mask off. I had not felt so refreshed in such a long time! My alarm clock beeped again.

"It's 6:00 already!" I panicked.

I rummaged through my closet, looking for an eye-catching outfit. I decided on a white lace top with a flowy, neon orange skirt with a yellow and pink rose design. I put on the outfit and did my hair and makeup in complex styles that I had learnt through binge watching online tutorials in my spare time. I took a long look in the mirror, amazed at my own beauty. The doorbell rang just then, so I went to see who was there, expecting to be greeted by Lisa.

"T- Taehyung?" I stood there in shock.

"Yep!" he said, giving me a wide smile.

I ran up to him and gave him a tight hug. I had not seen my other best friend for nearly a decade.

"I- I thought you were in America!" I stammered.

"I moved back to Korea last week and I'm starting at your school today, in fact!" he answered, hugging me tighter.

"I missed you!" I said as I punched his shoulder playfully.

"I missed you more!" he chuckled.

All of a sudden, he grabbed my backpack and started running towards the school, giggling like a child.

"Yah! Pabo, come back here!" I chased after him.

As we approached the school building, I saw him waving my backpack in the air with a taunting grin on his face. I ran to him, but I tripped over a tree trunk as I got close. I shrieked and fell on top of him. I snatched my bag away, giving him a sharp glare.

"Thank you very much!" I scoffed as I got up and headed to class, leaving him laughing on the ground.

As I was walking through the halls, something seemed... weird. I had captured the sole attention of every single boy I passed. I felt a pair of eyes on me from behind, gazing at me intently, so I turned around quickly. To my surprise, Jungkook was standing a few feet away from me, looking at me like I was some sort of alien. Without warning, he took off his coat and threw it on top of me so that me head and neck were completely covered. He went up to me, grabbed my wrist, and started dragging me through the gaping crowd.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" I yelled, trying to break his grip.

He did not answer. The realization of what he most likely was going to do hit me, and panic filled my brain, making me forget that I look like an idiot with a jacket on my head. I reached up for it and took it off with my free hand just as we stopped. He finally let go of my wrist, and I took a look around to see where we were. I noticed we were inside a classroom I had not been to before.

"Why in the world do you look like... that?" he exclaimed, gesturing at me.

I decided to tease him.

"What do you mean? This is my personal style, and I can choose what I want to wear!" I replied.

"Oh, so this is what you wear every day? Then why is it that today, every boy looks like a lion wanting to pounce on you?" he snapped back.

"Yeah, right! Why do you even care?" I said, pushing him away after noticing that he was taking steps towards me.

He stopped and unexpectedly started blushing until he was as red as a tomato.

"Are . . . you okay?" I asked.

He nodded. I was waiting for him to say anything when the bell for first period rang, meaning that class was about to start.

As students started filing in, we ran out to our classroom, causing people to give us strange looks. My plan was a success. I had already begun torturing the poor playboy simply using a little help from cosmetics and clothing. I could tell he was getting jealous and at the same time, worried. I imagined what I could do in only a matter of time.

We, along with the other students, took our seats just as the morning announcements started. The speaker droned on about the regular notifications that by now, no one payed attention to anymore. Everyone's ears perked up, however, when we received some unfamiliar news.

"Students, we will be having a Halloween Ball on the Saturday following Halloween. This will be organized by last year's dance committee. We hope you all enjoy! Thank you, and that is the last of your daily morning announcements."

The class cheered until they were quieted down by the teacher, but even still, they were whispering about it and passing notes throughout the hour. As I turned to check the clock hung in the back of the classroom, I could feel someone's stare. After looking around, I saw that that Taehyung was looking furiously between me and the clock. He seemed impatient to see me. I wondered what it was until I noticed Jungkook fiercely glaring at him. I started to feel a bit nervous. I need to find out what is going on around here.
